Named for William Sands Cox, the founder of Birmingham
Medical School (which was the precursor of Birmingham University), the Society is for Medical and Dental Graduates of Birmingham
University. It was founded in 1983. It
organises 2 or 3 meetings per year, publishes a journal (Aesculapius) annually and supports current medical and dental students
in their elective projects. It is a registered charity (No.512347).
It is recognised
by the University as the Alumni organisation for Medical and Dental Graduates.
